I'm obliged to do my child's homework

Since when did they have the idea of parents doing homework for/with chidren here in Hong Kong? Comprehension exs in English, the actual level is grade 7 or more, but assigned to grade 1 students. So are arts homework that made me glue woolen threads to cover a drawing paper painstickingly. They made moms/dads do the homework and we often have to brush our children aside lest they should do harm to our homework.

Do you have anything similar/comparable to these in France?

Here we have a name for it: Parent and Child Homework, which implies it makes our relationship better. Well, if I didn't have to do this, I might have more time to talk and go out with my child, on the contrary.
