I am a French PhD student (defense of my thesis will be on the 29 September 2004) and I am looking for a postdoctoral position starting October 2004. I read your ad and I am very interested in the subject of your research. After my PhD, I wish to find a postdoctoral position with a proteomic approach.
During the past four years, my work consisted of the study of the nuclear proteome of intestinal epithelial cells during the proliferation/differatiation states and the comparison of modifications to them provided by the growth of an extracellular matrix protein –the laminin-. I first created a map of the nuclear proteins in the standard condition (in collaboration with a mass specrtrometry laboratory in Strasbourg); and then I compared the differents maps obtained in the differents conditions (proliferation versus differentiation, standard proliferation versus proliferation with ECM) using Pdquest software. I found mostly downregulated proteins in both the differentiated status and in the proliferation with ECM. Some of these proteins were similar in both conditions.
Finally, I focused my study on a single protein, and I tried to understand how the presence of the ECM influenced the regulation of this protein (study of localization, transduction signals, partners, posttranslational modifications such as phosphorylation,….) and what role it played in the differentiation process. My results were published in Proteomics journal, and I am preparing a second publication.
I'm a very motivated and independent person, and I am especially interested in a postdoctoral position in a foreign country. Such a position would allow me to enhance my scientific and technical skills, to progress in English and to discover another way of life.
