Default My name in Arabic

Hi
My name is Matthew Hanson. This is pronounced: ma as in maths th as in three ew as in few han as in hand son with an o as in got, so its like sun with the u pronouced as the o in got. Haha that reads ferociously. But, I'm sure you already know how to say my name...

I have taken up teaching my self arabic. I have assumed that in Arabic, my name is:

ﻤﺎﺜﻮ ﮪﺎﻨﺴﻥ

Is this right?

As I was typing this up I realised that 'theh' sounds like the 'thi' in think not the 'tha' as in that, should I use 'dal' instead of 'theh'? Should my name be:

ﻤﺎﺪﻮ ﮪﺎﻨﺴﻥ

Also how do I get the letter o sound in Hanson? Do I ignore it? Can I use an 'alif' to acheive this sound? When you read my name, I think it is normal to pronounce the 'seen' and 'noon' letters as 'sin' when put together; but this isn't the right sound.

In Matthew, the a sounds like the a in apple. Which alif should I use to acheive this sound? As I have written it in arabic above, it reads marfew harnsin. Should I leave out the alif in both? Should my name be:

ﻤﺪﻮ ﮪﻨﺴﻥ

Also, my name in English has two t's, but it is pronounced as if it has only one.I transcribed the sound to the 'theh' letter, not a 'teh' then a 'theh'. So is it correct to transcribe my name phonetically, like I have been doing?

I know I'm pedantic, but hey

Thanks for your help.

I'm really enjoying teaching myself arabic.
