Default Leakage in assets

:D

Is there a nicer exemple of a "euphemism" than: Leakage in assets ?

I heard this term last evening on the national news:

a company chosen by the US government to manage "oil money" for the Iraqui people have "misplaced" $8.8 billion of said fund.

The use of words like "stole", "swiped", "looted" , "plundered", .... would not look good on their resume; so, somebody came up with the charming expression: "There was a leakage in assets" :D
