How English or Dutch people are recognized in Southern France ? They are the only one to open everything in summer ! A great uncle of mine particularly doesn't understand this reaction and says they're "fadas" ( more or less "nuts" )! But he exagerates : they understand rather quickly what's the best !

STAYING COOL HONG KONG STYLE
People, esp the retired and elderly, would go to restaurants (breakfast, lunch, teatime), where the air-conditioner is super cool. For the rest of the time, the men would go to the library, while their wives are shopping in air-conditioned wet markets or supermarkets. In the afternoon, after eating in a chinese restaurant, they'll hang around in malls (super cool!) If they find places to sit, they can sit all day. In this way they can enjoy free air-conditioning without paying the bill.
I can think of one place where you can keep your freshness and live in the dark: the church.
