Born in Tokyo in 1932, Tatsuya Nakadai is above all a theatre actor.
On stage, he played successively Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Oedipe, Cyrano de Bergerac and Arsène Lupin.

He played his most dazzling roles in Kobayashi's Harakiri (1962), and in Gosha's Goyokin (1969).
