After a basic education program, culminated by obtaining a secondary school degree in science (baccalaureate scientifique) and followed by two years of preparatory literary studies (I am presetly in my second year at the Guist’hau high school (lycée) at Nantes), I plan to focus my course of studies on mastering English and with the goal of getting into the world of journalism.
The secondary school degree in science has enabled me to acquire meticulous methods in the methodical approach to various problems, whereas the two years thereafter helped me consolidate my nowledge in the fields of writing and general culture.
This course of studies up until now has led me to develop skills in the following subjects: English, literature, history, geography, Latin, philosophy and general culture. I now must complete this foundation by an in-depth immersion in the English language and the principal communication vectors, the final step before my envisioned debut in the world of professional journalism.
My pronounced liking for a living subject such as investigation quite naturally leads me to the field of news and communicatons. In order to start along this path, mastering writing techniques is my main objective right now, which may lead in time to other communication techniques. All of this must logically lead me to the very essence of the profession.
In the short term, this will allow me to pursue my studies (certificate in English), and at the same time aquire supplementary credits in the area of grammar, writing and oral expression.
It is for these reasons that I chose the University of Ottawa which, in addition to meeting my main goals, will allow me to experience another culture and form new relationships with others.
