Hmmmmm ... i tried my best ,, I hope i would be fair to the poet, this is more wisdom that poems ... so , it is hard to translate and give it is right.




قال الإمام الشافعي رحمه الله وغفر له:
Imam Sahfe' God bless his soul said:

الدَّهْرُ يَـومَانِ ذا أمْنٍ وذا خَطَرٍ *** والعيشُ عيشانِ ذا صفو وذا كدرُ
Lifetime has two types of days, a safe one and a dangerious on
and living has two types, living in happiness and living in sadness
أَمَا تَرَى البحرَ تَعلُو فوقه جِيَفٌ *** وتَسْتَقِرُّ بأقْصَى قـــاعِهِ الدُّرَرُُ
can't you see the sea with the rotten items lay over it
while the pearls rest deep inside it
وفِـي السَّمَاءِ نجومٌ لا عدادَ لَهَا *** وليس يُكسَفُ إلا الشمس والقـمر
and above in heaven there are countless starts
and only the sun and the moon eclipse

et encore en évoquant l'amitiée:

إذا المرء لا يرعاك إلاّ تكـــلفاً *** فدعه ولا تكثر عليه التأســفا
If someone pretend that he cares for you
leave him and don't feel sorry about him
ففي الناس أبدالٌ وفي الترك راحة *** وفي القلب صبرٌ للحبيب ولو جفا
for you can change people and there is ease in leaving
and in the heart there is patience for the beloved one even if he abondon his lover
فما كل من تهواه يهواك قلــبه *** ولا كل ما صافيته لك قد صفــا
for not everyone you love, loves you
and not everything which you deem clear is clear

إذا لم يكن صفو الوداد طبيــعةً *** فلا خير في ودٍ يجيء تكـــلفا
if love was not natural
then there is no comfort in the fake love

ولا خير في خلٍ يخون خليــله *** ويلقاه من بعد المحبة بالجفــا
and there is no grace in a lover who betray his lover
and treat him cooly when meeting him after the love between them

وينكر عيشاً قد تقادم عهـــده *** ويظهر سراً كان بالأمس قد خفا
and denies the old days
and reveal what were secrets between them in the past

سلامٌ على الدنيا إذا لم يكن بها *** صديق صدوق صادق الوعد منصفا
farewell to life if it lacks
a true loyal friend who keeps his promises
