je pense qu'il s'agit de "life" en language ancien, j'ai trouve la meme orthographe dans un texte biblique :
"he that heareth my worde, and beleveth on hym that sent me, hath everlastyng lyfe,
and shall not come unto dampnacion, but he passeth from death unto lyfe".
