I don't like to say it because I don't want people get frightened of this wonderful language. Sanskrit is really difficult.
Not the script, the script is easy, every sound is written by just one symbol and every symbol has just one sound.

It is the grammer. Seven different ways to express the past tense. Many cases. Singular, plural but also dual mumber. Complicated rules to write words together. (called sandhi)
गोपयेद्दारान्विद्यामभ्यासयेत्सुतान् (Gopayeddaaraanvidyaamabhyaasayetsutaan)
(=You have to take care of your wife and give education to your children)

Many synonyms. More than 20 words for elephant, sun, moon, king etc.

Pronounciation: four different T, four different D, two N, two SH, two L.

Different forms of the verb to express "must" "want" etc.
Like karoti (कराति) he does, kuryaat (कुर्यात् ) he must do, cikiirShati (चिकीर्षति) he wants to do, carkarti (चर्कर्ति) he often does.
Different verb forms to express if the benefit of the action is for youself or for someone else: karoti (कराति) he does for another; kurute (कुरुते ) he does for himself.

But if you know the forms you can say a whole sentence in just one word.
