lolllllllllllllllllll Dear Asma.....
1st. No, I did not copy Nana Brazil from Maria`s.. I just found her site yesterday.
2nd. Cafézinho (little coffee - as an affective way) - café = coffee... We do that like the Italians do to "cafferino" - this diminutive indicates in this case affection. Like Asminha ..
3rd. I do not know about French names well but I think this influence comes from the earlier times when Portuguese Crown was ruling here and the court loved the French style and copied it a lot

But this is only my humble opinion. Maybe Yeahcarl or Buddy know it better
4th . about the fruit...
from left to right:
first fruit = cashew - named "CAJÚ" here
second = avocados(abacates), apples (maçãs), pears (pêras), pineapples(abacaxis), melons (melões) etc..
third = melons ( melões)
forth = papaya ( mamão papaya - a small and sweet kind) - papaya in general are called just mamão (obs: 1 mamão 2 mamões ..heheh)
fifth = pitangas (don`t know if there is a translation for them)
eight = acerolas ( very very rich in vitamin C)
