Well shall I write down one more time that when someone is talking of chinese he is thinking to every different spoken language (cantonese... hai nam... and mandarin... and so on). Of course mandarin is the common language and thus universally written and pronounced the same way in China. But mandarin is not chinese... it is one of the spoken form of chinese, the one that is used when two people from different region want to communicate.
Unfortunately not every chinese speaks mandarin and thus must write some characters down to be understood by someone from another region.
That is what I wanted to say from the beginning.

Yes, FD isn't all correct about his thinking of Chinese language, but as to an european, it's much valuable that He does have the sense that Chinese language is spoken different though in the same writing system internationally.

Look a lot of people know it down here in Europe ok?
Don't assume people ignore China, usually they do not. Ask for what we know prior to think please, thanks!
