I can't deny that learning classic Arabic is a little bit tough, but speaking it is much easier, the grammar is similar to English in many aspects, sometimes the grammar of Arabic sounds easier than English, for instance the tenses in Arabic are not as many as in English, vowels are mostly omitted, so it's less likely to make a mistake writing a word in Arabic than in English, however many grammar rules in Arabic as so hard that even natives don't follow, it all depends on what level you want to reach in learning Arabic, and I know many americans who mastered Arabic, so it's up to you!
