You have been to french school, don't forget that this is a LAIC school... that means NO religion at all whatsoever in it. That includes no veil. Distinvitve signs of religious and community appartenace have always been forbidden in France for freedom reasons.
Do you think it is to be free to wear and show everybody your conictions and ideas. What would you do if on your ID were written Jewish or Arab or Mulism or Christian??? That is not freedom!!!!
Now what make me say that most of the girls think they chose to wear the hijab but in reality their choice is a false one...
It is that I am living inside Paris were I sometimes see hijabs one women, and I can think they reasonnably chose it. But crossing the road and getting outside from Paris (In Bobigny, 93, where i am working). Half of women wear the Hijab. How on hearth from a side of the street to the other one, so much women suddenly chose to wear it?
They think they chose it but actually their culture forced them to wear it. They just don't even know about ihow they were forcd. And that's why it is hard for them to remove it thereafter, when we have a law for that.
If they would have chosen it freely for real, it would not be too hard to remove it at least at school (less than 16 years old for those who forget it).
