Bone Flute unearthed in Jiahu, Wuyang (Henan) of neolithic period

The bone flute, dating back to appx. 8000 years from now, is made of crane bone, 20cm long generally, 1cm appx. in calibre, of fixed form and regular making, on one side of the bone flute is pored 7 sound-making holes, the distance between each every two holes is almost the same, of which between the 6th and the 7th hole pored another tuning small hole, proving that the maker of bone flute had formed correct sound concept. After sound gauging, the bone flute can accompany the Hebei folk song Small Cabbage 小白菜. It's found that: Jiahu Bone Flute is structured at least 6-tone scale, or possibly full 7-tone ancient lower Zhi scale. Additionally, there is also possibility of multi-Gong playing. This unearthing leads to the mend up to pre-Qin musical history, and it also necessitates the re-valuation and re-cognition of the whole Chinese musical History perfected since its coming to being, undoubtedly that Jiahu Bone Flute is the most ancient musical instrument ever unearthed in these years.
距今8700年的骨笛,是用鹤鸟肢骨所制,上钻七孔。经测定,已经具备七声音阶结构,至今仍可 吹奏旋律。
