In fact, Chinese is as vague as European. It's not a race or a nation, but it's a common culture umbrella in which many different races share together. Qin Dynasty wasn't a native chinese empire, and neither were Tang Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. They were all established by the so-called "manzi" (barbarian) but they were then melted into the common "han" (native chinese) culture and became the great defenders to guard chinese culture. It's what we call soft power today.
The question we should ask is whether chinese can maintain soft power today.
