1. You are right about Portuguese language. I can add that indeed it is a latin language and very similar to Spanish and Italian ( in some cases).
To tell you the difference of Pt from Brazil and Portugal, I could compare THE USA/ BRITIAN English- as an example saying to you that it is more modified and different than the English language countries.
2. I appreciate your interest in my country, language and posts. If someday I am able to send you a PT dictionary I `ll do it, ok?
