Hi,
My neighbour had a mild heart attack on Saturday. David called the mobile emergency medical service, I called her children. One of her sons who is a doctor took her to his home, which avoided her going to hospital. But she should be placed in a medical environment.
Since she's been staying in a nursing home, I visit her every day. I walk there, a bit of exercise, and bring her some biscuits she's mad about.
In our building, we all know one another, we talk a lot. So if anything happens to someone, the neighbours have the particulars of their close relations.
This is the reason why I've been silent for a long time.
Presently, I look after her flat and bring her personal effects (her children live far from here).
She doesn't seem to be delighted at the thought of living in a nursing home but she's getting used to it gradually.
Otherwise David and I are already in Barcelona, we only think of leaving. We're reviewing what we must take, well we proceed in the same way as we do for long trips (medicines to be taken and on double, etc...)
You spoke about the spring-like weather in Canada, our sun is no longer shy and warms the atmosphere. We have 21/22°C in the afternoon so I take advantage of that to go and walk barefooted in the seaside water at low tide. They say such a walk would be beneficial to the feet arches and blood circulation, and would boost the morale still more!
Love,
Marie-Paule
