Hello,
What a nice weekend in perspective! Going off on a romantic weekend in Vancouver is an excellent idea. You could visit a beautiful photo exhibition, celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in a restaurant and make the most of the little trip to find yourselves again. This little break will do you the greatest good. You were talking about the various photographers whose works are presented at the exhibition. Julia Margaret Cameron is a remarkable photographer. Her photos are sombre and contemplative, very near to spiritual paintings. It would be a nice thing for the exhibition to come over to Paris, I could go and visit it. Tell me, is Sid aware of the hotel reservation in Vancouver or do you intend it as a surprise for him?
Will your daughters stay at your parents'.
As for us, we'll attend a concert by Manu Chao in June. Some ten years ago or so we had seen him when he was a member of a group. I don't care if we're considered like 'boring old farts', as my (eighteen-year-old) neighbour told me. She thought Manu Chao is her age, she neither knew the singer's past nor his age. After I told her about his past, she was rather flabbergasted, staring wide-eyed and she said:'Well I didn't know. So I guess I'm the one who's a bit on the young side!'
Moreover as she'll come with us, her parents can feel reassured. She prefers coming with us rather with her parents, otherwise 'it's a bit of a shame', dixit.
See you Cathy.
Love,
Marie-Paule
