N'étant pas très loin du Guilvinec je me sens en droit de reconstituer les faits en anglais...j'étais sur place à ce moment là...
on March 10th during a cold and damp night, a murder occured around 9 pm in the harbour of Guilvinec. The victim was identified as Mr Broutz.
As a witness had seen the whole scene the murderer was stalking him.
Lieutenant Colombo arrived on the murder's scene in his light grey convertible Peugeot 403.He was smoking his endless big cigar. While scratching his head with his right hand he became convinced that the murder had used a butcher cleaver in the killing.
He asked the neighbours for information as to know whether they had seen unusual people or car passed by in front of their homes. They answered they hadn't as they were already in bed at that time.
But the lieutenant kept on inquiring from the secretary of Mr Broutz who was a famous writer and reknown for the best whodunnit of the year 2000. He had found some gloves in the harbour and was hoping that the fingerprints would be the murder's ones but so far there was no result that it be from the gendarmerie research laboratory of Douarnenez or Pont l'Abbé or Audierne.
Therefore he was looking for the slightest clue that might sort out the investigation. Suspecting Mr Broutz's wife whose name was Clotilde, he began asking her where she was when the murder of his husband occured so as to know if she had an alibi and which one if she had any.
She said that she had been visiting Jacqueline, a friend of hers, they had been playing cards together. She had arrived around 7pm and had
left at about 9pm.
But inspector Colombo was puzzled and asked her if she had left the room for a few minutes as to go to the toilets for instance...
