Dear host family,

I am writing you this letter to convince you of my determination. This experience could be a real opportunity for me. In return for sharing my experience with children, I could learn your habits, customs, in a word, your way of life.
I have already looked after children, girls and boys, aged from 2 to 9. Their parents expected me to keep them occupied, to amuse them at cooking or playing, or take them for a walk. And of course I had to see to their basic needs such as cooking their dinner, make them have a shower and put them to bed. On every occasion, it is with pleasure that I took care of them.
I have been living in a small country village since I was born, some 60 kilometers south of Lyon. The nearest city is not far away, so I am divided between two landscapes. I can go jogging in the plain to get some fresh air, but I can also go to the shopping centre with friends, or to the cinema. Sometimes I practise fitness exercises in an aquatic centre where there is a sports room. I like reading, especially detective stories, but I also like fantasy, like Harry Potter.
Spending my summer holidays in your family would enable me to improve and enrich my knowledge of both spoken and written English. I really want to be bilingual and why not live in England. Indeed this country appealed to me a few years ago when I visited it during a school travel. I also want to study for a year or more in Great Britain. It is very important for me and my future prospects because I would like to travel around the world and visit different continents before settling in somewhere.
I really hope to carry out this project.
I am certain I will enjoy myself in the company of you and your children and I look forward to hear from you.
