When 0 is in a multi-digital number, the 0 represents 10n
So in we call ten 10 in Chinese “Shie”, as we draw it [十]or capital [拾], sometimes because twenty 20 is called “Er Shie” [二十](in Chinese the [二十] means and pronounces in English style two-ten, actually it is 2×10), we call ten 10 also as [一十] (Jie Shie) (in Chinese the [十] or [一十] means and pronounces in English-like style ten or one-ten, actually it is 10 or 1×10).
