Are you sure that "who we looked into his plate" is correct??
It doesn't make any sense to me. It's not grammatical (but similar constructions are commonly used by uneducated speakers to avoid the possessive relative pronoun "whose": e.g. This is the guy who we stole his car")
It may be a slang expression used in a specific narrow milieu, but I've never come across it before.
could it be "place" instead of "plate"?
