What do you think about Russian? This language has some similitude's with ancient Latin and some differences too. Alphabet is different than romance languages but it's not hard to get used to Cyrillic(for me is harder trying to say what I read... sometimes I just can translit it to Latin alphabet, but no reading).
I have been in touch with some Russian friends and I started reading about this language... it's an attractive language for me.
Arabic seems to be popular too. I don't know this language and seems to be more difficult writing/reading it, but may be just because I don't know it.
As Klowj said, the best option is the one which you really like and decisions is your.
Just take it easy and go step by step. You'll see you get your goal, no matter which language you take.
