uh huh I afraid im not a big help lol...
well, I learnt it by practising.. in a book I have, it is transliterated as a tiny c right before the vowel.. like
el cAin, cArabia, cOmry etc.
my arabic teacher likes to translate it as äain. and you say ä and a as a one sound. (understand?

)
ä is like the english a in cat, bag, rat, sat, dad.
I also saw that somewhere it was described as "...just like if you're throwing up an A"
