of course there are some other emergency numbers on earth
in France we have many of them, dial 18 for firemen (which belong to the army in paris and marseille) 15 for medical emergency, 17 for the police but far less used than the two others.
And then you have some other useful numbers, but they ar not toll free and are longer so people don't use to know them by heart.
