Hello!

I'm learning Modern Arabic at university (I began last September). I think it is better to learn modern arabic first, especially if you do not have in mind to travel in a particular country. I think modern/classical arabic is harder to learn than the dialects. But once you've learned it, it will be easier to learn the dialects. If you don't I don't think it's a big issue 'cause most are learning modern arabic at school.

For the writing, I do not have any problem with it, but I get confuse when people are writing arabic with the latin alphabet.
