Quelques suggestions
The SpinaTheater Solingen is an incorporated society aiming at supporting young theatrical art, found and managed by unsalaried friends and sponsors.
The youth work together with director Manfred Olek Witt and choreograph Emily Welther. The formal focus of their pieces is put on dance and mouvement whereas concerning the subject matter they focus on political issues.
Their first piece, "Skin, Love and Spinach" dealt with the problem of growing up and integrating into the society.
"The float of the Medusa" by the german expressionist Georg Kayser, stressed textwork. 13 children spent seven days on a float in the open sea, conditioned by faith, sacrifice and guilt.
"School Nr. 1 - Children of War" again is a dance- and improvised-performance about the hostag-taking in Beslan and the chechen-conflict in Russia in general. It is the most succesfull production so far and will be performed at the "Theatertage der Jugend" in Berlin this year.
At the moment, the group is developping its last piece, "Money, Money, Money". The improvisations and choreographs will lead to an humorous but critical view on money and economy.
