But does anyone still post here?
I'm Canadian, but I live in Denmark. Always loved Scandinavian countries, and Finland was obviously the most special among those countries. But destiny made me move to Denmark instead. I'm nearly done with the mandatory Danish lessons from the integration ministry so I can move on to other stuff.
I've been trying to reactivate my shaky knowledge of Finnish in the past few weeks, but I might have some specific grammatical questions once in a while. If this forum is still active, it could provide a very helpful hand. The different topics with lessons appear very useful already.
I used to know a Finn, who gave me a useful reference book, but not so good to learn Finnish. I'm forced to fall back on a flawed, but better book for the task, the same book I used 15 years ago as a teenager. The Finnish taught in it is kinda old-fashioned, but it does the job to teach the basics.
Anyway, I've been through nominative, accusative (whether it really exists or not, Finns don't seem to agree. lol), genitive and am just starting to get the hang of the partitive case. Grammar is not so hard, but man, remembering all those samey-looking, very foreign, and vowel-filled words is the true challenge. I keep mixing up syllables and words.
