Lustig, das hab ich grade gepostet:
My favourite book would probably be 1984 by Orwell. Not at all cause it's been that much of a pleasurable reading experience for me. Stuff like Harry Potter or Sakrileg/The Davinci Code is what'll make me an obsessive 24/7 reader (which doesn't happen a lot). What I love so much about 1984 is the way it pulls away the ground under your feet as it puts this huge question sign behind the most cherished values of humanity. At least it caused me to rethink the meaning of those values intensely as ever.

"Zeigt [...] die heutige Gesellschaft [...]" ist aber ne krasse Formulierung! Natürlich gibt's heute Ansätze dessen, was erschreckend genug ist... aber, wenn unsere Gesellschaft wirklich so wär wie die in 1984... wow, dann wär's irgendwie vorbei, oder?
