I believe in Kant's definition of freedom. He connects morality with freedom. To be free is to follow our own rational principles instead of just our desires : to follow our own legislation, to act on maxims that we will to be universal laws. To be free is to be moral. And by being moral I don't mean not going against the law. Being moral in Kant's philosophy is following our own law, the law we have inside our hearts.
It's very difficult following it, as many times you just want to be happy and satisfied, even if this means offending someone else or don't studying.
Sometimes you know you're doing the wrong thing, but you do it the same. Freedom is having the strenght of not doing it.
