COVER LETTER
Dear Madam,

From the web site idealist.org I learned about your need for an intern to be part of a team responsible for raising funds from corporations, foundations, government agencies and individuals. I am very interested in this internship; indeed I believe that my experience in cultural management and especially in fundraising has provided me with the skills necessary to excel in this position.

My solid background as a director’s assistant within a firm of cultural engineering’s counselling has allowed me to hone, in very concret terms, my approach of cultural management, especially by facing actual cases risen by fundraising activities. As you can see from my resume, I have been involved in the whole process of fundraising, from redacting partnership dossiers and selecting potential partners to concluding contracts. During this eight-month internship, I gained invaluable organizational and managerial experience, as well as the correlative administrative abilities.

Furthermore, I have been in charge with communication for a theatre, in which position I developed considerable social skills and consequently the aptitude to work in a team. Likewise, my numerous commitments in non-profit organizations meaningfully strengthened theses experiences by providing me, throughout my education time, a practical consolidation to my academic knowledge.

Indeed, with a four-year degree in theatrical studies and a fifth year of specialization in cultural management in a top French management school, my education has provided me with in-depth, practical training in the field your organization intervene in. I believe that this combination of knowledge and experience definitely fit the description of the position, and I feel confident of the skill I can bring to your organization.

I will be available from April for an at least five-month internship. However I would be delighted to discuss further with you yours needs and my qualifications for this position.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
