Dear Sir, Ms.,
In reply to your offer, I would like to apply for summer camp at the University of California, and particulary at Berkeley.
First allow me to introduce myself. I am presently enrolled in a course of study to obtain a Masters in Management "des sports de glisse" at the Bordeaux 2 University. During these last four years, I acquired a general training in communication, media and marketing.
In order to obtain my diploma and become a person in charge of communication in a company in the "de la glisse" sector, it is essential to have a good knowledge of the English language. I realize that I have difficulties with this language, which is a considerable handicap for my future position. Improving my English, with an aim of attaining a professional level, is the main reason why I wish to take part in this summer camp.
The second reason is the geographical location of Berkeley. Indeed, Berkeley is located in California, which is the area where surfing and skating had their greatest evolution in their history. Surfing, skating and snowboarding are my passions. It would be a very meaningful experience for me become acquainted with the culture, way of life and the inhabitants of one of the areas where surfing and skating were born. I practiced snowboarding ten years ago and surfing as of this year. Environmental issues concern all persons who practice outdoor sports. For my part, I would like to write a thesis on the environmental management of the surfing and snowboarding companies . Thus, I am very interested in the Introduction to Culture and Natural Resource Management course that is included in the summer camp program.
I would be delighted to appear for an interview and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully.
