Area taken into account by the INTERREG programme has a high standard of touristic infrastructures, much diversified, on both sides of the borders, this could be improved thanks to new acivites though. Common points between the two parts are a relatively well preserved environnement, offering nice landscapes, numerous natural sites mainly linked to water, forest, topography and also to complementary industrial culture, there are museums as well. The area also offers numerous possibilities to practice sports (trekking, ski, mountain bike, sailing, fishing, canoeing...). However, this economical field has different properties, closely linked to each of the areas.

Nowadays the Franche-Comté/Suisse is a transit area, it is currently not able to stop people flux from more populated european areas. Indeed tourism only lets small incomes, the area has a huge developpement potential though. Similarly a given number of large sites need reactualization to be useful for transboarder business. Mean stay duration (which is 2.12 nights per person)shows that this region is mainly dependant on passing tourism
